Window frames in anthracite

Modern trends and architectural solutions are moving towards combining excellent form with durable and resistant materials. Attention to detail is of fundamental importance, as is originality in terms of design and colour combinations. There is an increasing move away from classic solutions. This also applies to white windows.

Anthracite – what colour is it?

The wide range of colours available can often cause considerable doubt when building or renovating a house. Shades of grey are becoming increasingly popular, and anthracite has been one of them for several years. So what does the mysterious word “anthracite” mean? It is the name of an organogenic rock, a type of high-energy fossil coal. It is from this rock that the colour anthracite, which describes this shade of grey, takes its name. This colour has gained considerable popularity, and dark window frames have become a trend that can be seen more and more often in Polish interiors.

What style will anthracite-coloured windows go with?

Considering the fact that window frames in dark colours stand out quite strongly in the home, one may wonder whether such colours will go well with every style. Well, window frames or patio doors in anthracite go well with simple, modern interiors. They perfectly complement minimalist compositions, creating an almost ascetic atmosphere. They go well with post-industrial, loft or loft-style interiors. They will also look great in combination with concrete, raw brick or whitewashed walls. They will also be a perfect complement to the whole, e.g. in combination with a light grey floor. The beauty of anthracite-coloured windows can be emphasised by grey interior design accessories, such as cushions, flower pots, lamps, picture frames on the walls, etc. However, such a dark grey interior design with anthracite-coloured windows does not always work. For some, it may be too overwhelming, and the atmosphere created by this colour scheme may be too cold.

On the other hand, a very interesting effect is achieved by using anthracite windows and patio doors, which will provide a beautiful frame for the image of our garden or other outdoor view. The view of trees and bushes with the sky in the background, inscribed in an anthracite rectangle, creates a unique image. Of course, this effect can be achieved not only with patio windows. Anthracite windows can be used in any room – living room, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom; on the ground floor and in the attic.

The contemporary vision of minimalism fits perfectly into the so-called Scandinavian style. All shades of grey harmonise perfectly with white and light wood, creating a space that exudes simplicity and harmony. To warm up the whole, it is enough to add an accessory, e.g. a carpet with a classic pattern. The anthracite window can be left without net curtains and curtains, as they are impressive enough on their own.

When are anthracite windows not recommended?

Anthracite-coloured windows, due to their dark colour, stand out in a room and can dominate the space. They are not recommended for homes with a sterile design. An anthracite window will also not look good in a traditional home with a warm wood colour. It is usually difficult to combine them with anthracite.

Anthracite for indoors or outdoors?

Anthracite windows look beautiful on the inside and outside of your house. Of course, there are some limitations, as mentioned above. An additional advantage of windows in this colour is that they do not get dirty or fade. Dust does not show on them, and the structure protects them well against scratching.
